How to Delete Your Account

This page explains how to delete your Areed account and what happens before and after deletion.
Step-by-step: How to delete your account
- Open the Areed app and sign in to your account (customer or supplier).
- Go to Profile. Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation bar.
- Open the delete-account option. Scroll to the “Delete account” (or similar) section and tap it.
- Confirm your identity. Enter your account password when prompted. This is required for security.
- Confirm deletion. Read the information shown (including that your account will be deactivated immediately and data removed after 30 days), then confirm that you want to delete your account.
Once you confirm, your account is deactivated immediately. You cannot undo this from the app; if you change your mind, see “Reactivation” below.
What happens immediately after you delete your account
- Your account is deactivated. You will no longer have access to the Areed platform with this account.
- You cannot sign in. If you try to log in with the same email and password, you will be told that the account has been deleted and cannot be used.
- Your profile and app access are disabled. You will not be able to view or use your orders, RFQs, quotations, or messages through the app with this account.
What happens to your data
During the first 30 days
Your account remains in a “deleted” state. Your personal data is still stored but your account cannot be used to sign in or access the service.
After 30 days
- Personal data deletion. We delete your personal data (e.g. profile, contact details) from our systems in line with our data retention policy.
- Transaction records. Certain transaction-related records (e.g. order or payment records) may be retained for longer where required by law, for accounting, or for resolving disputes. These are kept in accordance with our Privacy Policy and legal obligations.
Reactivation: Using the same email again
If you register again using the same email address after deleting your account, we may offer you the option to reactivate that account instead of creating a new one. If you reactivate:
- Your previous account is restored and you can sign in again with that email.
- You may need to confirm your name or update your profile.
- Any data that was not yet permanently deleted may again be associated with your account.
Reactivating is optional; you can choose to register as a completely new user if you prefer.
